CFP | Pelion Summer Lab 2023 “Eco/o/ontologies”

This summer will take place the 5th Pelion Summer Lab for Cultural Theory and Experimental Humanities (PSL), an initiative of the Laboratory of Social Anthropology of the University of Thessaly, with the support of the Experimental Humanities Collaborative Network (EHCN). 

The aim of this 10-day program is to convene an interdisciplinary group of graduate students, researchers, artists, activists and cultural producers from fields such as anthropology, history, sociology, interdisciplinary arts, gender studies, cultural and new media studies intensive exchange and exploration regarding the pressing problems and questions of our worlds.

This year’s theme Ec/o/ntologies, explores how debates, methods, and epistemologies informing the emergent interdisciplinary field of Environmental Humanities might help retool collective responses to the dire planetary exigencies of the mounting climate crisis. Experiments in commoning and mutuality indebted to feminist, anticolonial, indigenous and black genealogies of thought and practice will be explored In conversation with local natural resource struggles.
