Sonia Garzon Ramirez
Sonia is a PhD candidate in Gender Studies.
She holds a Master degree in Women’s and Gender Studies, from the universities of Lodz (Poland) and Granada (Spain) and a Master degree in Development and Cooperation from Universitat Jaume I (Spain). Her doctoral research focuses on the intersections between neoliberal urban transformation and socio-spatial justice, with particular emphasis on societies engaged in transitional justice processes. It explores questions concerned with how oppressed populations, especially internally displaced women, negotiate and struggle for achieving their integration in urban contexts, and the role of urban spatial politics and architecture in determining people’s right to the city.
