Fani's PhD project looks into the politics between what is delineated as the human and as the non-human in the classic Gothic and science fiction of M. Shelley and H.G. Wells.

Her areas of interest are: sci-fi, Gothic fiction, biopolitics, posthumanism, ecocriticism, animal studies, science studies, and gender studies.
