April 26, 2022
In the context of the Illiberalism Studies Program, Andrea Pető aims to analyze the complex relationship between gender and illiberalism. Prof. Pető will discuss the reasons why both illiberalism and the category of gender are difficult to grasp. In doing so, she engages with previous research on gender, pointing out what has been missed. She argues that gender works as a “symbolic glue” for illiberal states.
