I graduated from the CEU with a master’s degree in Women’s and Gender History (MATILDA Program) in 2015. Then, I spent one year in the UK at the University of Oxford, where I continued the research that I had started at the CEU about Tehran’s red-light district before the 1979 Revolution. I am now completing my doctoral dissertation at Princeton University’s Department of Near Eastern Studies as a Mellon/ACLS fellow.

Piret Karro

Piret Karro graduated with distinction from the Critical Gender Studies MA program at CEU in 2020. Her MA thesis „You’re being hysterical“ and „This is a witch-hunt“: Discourses discrediting gender in Estonian media was awarded an honorary mention by the Estonian Science Council.

Seda Saluk

Seda Saluk earned her MA in Gender Studies from Central European University in 2009 and her BA in Psychology in Bogazici University in 2008. She is currently pursuing her PhD as a Fulbright Fellow in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She received her Graduate Certificate in Advanced Feminist Studies from the Department of Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies at the same university.

Libora Oates-Indruchová

Libora Oates-Indruchová studied literary and cultural theory and obtained her PhD in English from Lancaster University, U.K., after which she completed „habilitation“ (dr. habil.) in Literary and Cultural Studies at Szeged University, Hungary. She also studied Gender Studies in a non-degree postgraduate programme at Central European University in Budapest Hungary, and hold an undergraduate degree (“Magistra”) in sports studies and English from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.

Tamar Sabedashvili

Tamar Sabedashvili holds an MA (2002) and a PhD (2012) in Gender Studies from Central European University, Budapest. She is Head of the Gender Studies Programme at Tbilisi State University, where she also teaches. Tamar Sabedashvili is Programme Specialist for the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) in Georgia. She is married and has one child.
