Conference: Women in a Multicultural Society

March 22, 2018

The conference `Women in Multicultural Society: Dilemmas of Gender and Culture' addresses intersecting issues of gender and multiculturalism. It will offer a unique opportunity to examine women’s position and challenges in both traditionally multicultural societies, such as the Hungarian society, in which different ethnic groups have lived side by side for centuries; and in societies that attempted, with greater or lesser success, to be a melting-pot primarily of immigrants arriving from a variety of cultures, such as the American and Israeli societies.

Among the conference topics are: Ethnic groups and Gender, Education and Gender in a multicultural environment, Perceptions of Gender in a multicultural society.
